										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2><strong>Road, rail, sea: intermodality is the future of transport and the market of semi-trailers and containers is realizing it</strong></h2>
<p>Container transport is the only sector that has not been affected by the decline recorded at the end of 2018; also for this year the forecasts are good. Behind this optimism there is an increase in interzone traffic also by rail, despite the delays and limitations that afflict the infrastructure, and a rather old fleet of semi-trailers that physiologically requires renewal. Flexibility is also the most important demand here: full length fixed trailers cannot meet every need, so extensible and tilting trailers are carving out interesting market shares. A very important news is the return of the floors suitable also for indivisible loads, almost disappeared because penalized by the tare of the structure and the wooden floor; the possibility of using them also outside the interzonal transport is reopening their interesting market niches. Always alive also the market of the semi-trailers that can be driven on trains and ships, that are by now an important slice of the general cargo vehicles; it is essential in this sector, the regulation of the height of the trailer: many railway tunnels are in fact not yet suitable for the transit of taller vehicles.</p>
<h2>Ten years of experimentation with 18-metre articulated lorries have yielded positive results. Now the supply chain is calling for them to be regularised and for the 25-metre EMS to be tested</h2>
<p>So far, so good, but that&#8217;s not enough. This is the message that the road haulage industry is sending out, taking stock of the experimentation of long semi-trailers for 18-metre articulated lorries. The monitoring of the 330 vehicles (30 in circulation since 2009 and 300 from 2015) has not shown any criticality: a single accident, within a logistics platform and not related to size. The most affected sector is food: one third of the fleet has insulated or refrigerated fittings. The average load saturation rate rose from 70% in the first phase to 80% in the second; only 6% of hauliers had to review the use of tractors to provide adequate towing for the eighteen.</p>
<h3><strong>The next step</strong></h3>
<p>The long semi-trailer convinced everyone, including the drivers: the only complaints concerned the limited space of some logistics platforms and a greater criticality with empty vehicles and strong side winds. If the last general states on the subject asked the trade associations for an increase in the contingent of Eighteen, today the supply chain asks for complete liberalization. But to press there is also the request for the testing of EMS 25.25 meters. While aware that these can never be a universal solution, due to the complex orography of Italy, operators and manufacturers will ask that extra long trucks can be used on a dedicated network of roads, as is already the case in Germany. The increase in size is not matched by the increase in total weight, which will remain at 44 tonnes. Positive news also from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport: it announced that it will not be opposed to the testing of EMS and will cooperate with manufacturers to find a way to the approval of the eighteen.</p>
<h2>During Transpotec Logitec<strong><em>, the tuttoTrasporti</em></strong><strong> stand was an important reference point for the thousands of enthusiasts who crowded the event.</strong></h2>
<p>Not just trucks and vans, equipment and services for businesses. Among the great protagonists of Transpotec Logitec 2019 must also be counted <a href="https://www.tuttotrasporti.it/home.html" rel="noopener" target="_blank">tuttoTrasporti</a>, present with a large stand in a central position, which has recorded many appreciations among the thousands of fans who crowded the exhibition scaligero. One of the strong points of our station was also the presence of the partners who wanted to be present at the Verona event in our company: Fraikin, European leader in short-term rental services; Würth, with its complete range of systems for fixing and anchoring loads; ZF, with the latest news in terms of transmission and suspension systems; TomTom Telemarics instead exhibited its advanced services for companies and finally Mecaprom Motors proposed the electric vehicles for the distribution of goods.</p>
<h3><strong>Tests and trophies</strong></h3>

<p>At the stand of tuttoTrasporti it was also possible to register to access the tests of the trucks that were taking place in the adjacent external area. More than 700 drivers were able to drive the latest models such as the Scania R410 LNG and R500 and the Volvo FH diesel and FH 460 LNG, as well as making contact with the new Mercedes-Benz Actros. One of the highlights at our booth was undoubtedly the crowded &#8220;Transport Stars&#8221; award ceremony that our magazine assigns in each edition of Transpotec. This year the awards went to VDO-Continental, ThermoKing, Cardi, <a href="/">Smet Logistics</a>, Riboni-Rbn Africa, Pris-Mag, Infogestweb. During the same ceremony, Raffaele Bonmezzadri from TuttoTrasporti (the only Italian member of the international jury that awards the prize) presented Giulio Marc D&#8217;Alberton, Head of Communication at Peugeot Italia, with the &#8220;International Van of the Year 2019&#8221; prize awarded to the PSA group.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://www.smet.it/en/">Smet Logistics</a> will also be present with its own stand at the 2019 edition of Transpotec Logitec. This is the largest event dedicated to transport logistics, organized by <a href="http://www.fieramilano.it/en">Fiera Milano</a>, which will be held from 21 to 24 February in Verona.</p>
<p>The event comes right in the middle of a relatively favorable period. In fact, 2018 saw a growth of 5.2 tons compared to the previous year in the registration of industrial vehicles over 3.5 tons, and 4.8% compared to 2017, as regards the registration of vehicles with a mass over 16 tons. <strong>Transpotec Logitec 2019</strong>, therefore, represents, among other things, also the opportunity to rejuvenate a fleet of vehicles, the Italian one, which in Europe is among the oldest.</p>
<h2>Transpotec Logitec: the trade fair for transport logistics</h2>
<p>The <strong>Transpotec Logitec</strong> fair, as the experts know, is the Italian event dedicated to <strong>transport logistics</strong>. In fact, <strong>Transpotec</strong> &#8211; as it is abbreviated &#8211; is aimed at hauliers, logistics managers, fleet owners, companies active in large distribution, couriers and owners. It is not, however, a simple exhibition, but a strategic opportunity for networking and business. It is no coincidence that Verona was chosen as the location for the event. The city of Veneto, in fact, is the crossroads between two major European corridors, with a strong industrial vocation in the field of road transport.</p>
<h3><strong>Transpotec Logitec 2019: the novelties of the fair</strong></h3>
<p>The <strong>Transpotec Logitec 2019</strong> also wants to offer a complete view of the market: not only heavy vehicles, but also trailers, equipment, components, services and logistics solutions. The 2019 edition, among other things, will also see the dense presence of manufacturers, who will present the latest news of the moment, especially with regard to the new forms of supply: <a href="https://www.smet.it/en/blog-en/liquid-natural-gas-this-is-the-starting-point-for-the-re-launch-of-logistics/">liquid</a> and <a href="https://www.smet.it/en/blog-en/electric-trucks-the-revolution-also-comes-in-freight-transport/">electric</a> natural gas.<br />
A large space will also be reserved for the sector of controlled temperature transport. An area that is constantly looking for solutions that can guarantee greater reliability and sustainability of costs. In the same way, Transpotec will also have a sector dedicated to the world of spare parts. The Aftermarket Village, organised by Parts Truck magazine, will contain proposals from over thirty companies specialising in the manufacture of accessories for heavy vehicles. Among the novelties introduced this year, then, the Logistic Village, where there will be meetings and workshops dedicated to <a href="https://www.smet.it/en/blog-en/what-is-logistics-and-how-it-is-structured-in-business-management/">logistics</a> and <a href="https://www.smet.it/en/road/">freight transport</a>. Among others, the <a href="http://www.alis.it/en/">Sustainable Intermodality Logistics Association</a> will also be present. The training events will also be held in collaboration with some of the most important publishers, associations and service companies in the sector.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Transpotec Logitec 2019</strong>, the Verona trade fair dedicated to <strong>transport logistics</strong>, has ended with a resounding success. Let&#8217;s see, then, the most important innovations that have emerged in the sector, in these four days where Smet Logistics has been the absolute protagonist.</p>
<h2>Transpotec Logitec: the most interesting novelties in the sector</h2>
<p>With more than 41.000 visitors, a 35% increase on previous editions, Transpotec Logitec&#8217;s balance sheet is more than positive. The 406 exhibiting companies, 23% more than in 2017, were able to discuss the main themes of <a href="https://www.smet.it/blog/logistica/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">logistics</a> and <a href="https://www.smet.it/en/road/">freight transport</a>. In particular, the central theme of the fair was alternative engines: liquid natural gas engines on the one hand and electric motors on the other. This was an opportunity for many of the brands in the sector to present their heavy goods vehicles. Let&#8217;s see them up close.</p>
<h3><strong>A star at Transpotec Logitec: Mercedes Actros</strong></h3>

<p>The <strong>Transpotec Logitec</strong>, at least in Italy, was a real preview for the Mercedes Actros. The German manufacturer, in fact, took advantage of the fair in Verona to let you touch all the latest news among its trucks. At the Mercedes stand, in fact, were present Atego, for short and medium range transport from 6.5 to 16 tons, Arocs, for the off-road sector, and Unimog, professional vehicle for municipal services, and Econic, natural gas version. The protagonist, however, was Actros, a vehicle for heavy transport up to 250 tons.</p>
<h3><strong>Man, a TGX inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci</strong></h3>

<p>Also for Man the Transpotec Logitec has been the occasion to present some novelties. This is the case, for example, of the TGX 500 Anniversary, dedicated to the figure of Leonardo Da Vinci. In 2019, in fact, the birth of the brilliant Italian inventor is celebrated. For this reason, the company has decided to dedicate a special and limited edition of only 52 pieces to him. In particular, the livery of this special medium shows some of the drawings &#8211; among the famous triumvirate man &#8211; of the Renaissance genius.</p>
<p>Not only that, but in this edition of the fair, Man also took the opportunity to show his idea of a heavy vehicle with electric traction. In particular, the German manufacturer has brought on display both the eTGE, already in the catalog, and the prototype already shown at the IAA in Hanover, CitE.</p>
<h3><strong>Commercial vehicles at Transpotec Logitec 2019</strong></h3>
<p>In addition to heavy vehicles, there was also a rich exhibition of commercial vehicles. Without going into detail, there were many manufacturers who exhibited their commercial vehicles at the Veronafiere. Ford presented the New Transit, but also the new Transit Custom PHEV equipped with an advanced hybrid system, able to offer up to 50 kilometers at zero emissions. Renault has also unveiled its electric solution, the Master ZE, equipped with the same payload as a vehicle with a diesel engine. The batteries, positioned under the seats, allow a range of up to 120 kilometres and a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Mercedes also presented its electric commercial vehicle. It is the eVito, with full power supply, which reaches a maximum speed of 120 km/h, but at 80 km/h can reach a range of 150 km. Fiat Professional has also presented its vehicles that wink at the environment. In particular, the Italian company has shown the line of vehicles powered by natural gas, from the Ducato Minibus up to the Doblò Cargo Natural Power.</p>
<h3><strong>Transpotec Logitec: commitment to new energies and fuels</strong></h3>
<p>The central focus of the event, by virtue of the desire to make sustainable transport, was the conference promoted by the Logistics Association of Sustainable Intermodality, <em>New energies and new fuels: the sustainable way to reduce CO<sub>2</sub> emissions</em>. Speakers included the Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Dario Galli, the Undersecretary for Sustainable Mobility, Vannia Gava, the commercial director of ENI, Paolo Grossi, the general manager of Veronamercato, Paolo Merci, the head of e-industries Enel X, Andrea Condotta, and the managing director of <a href="/">Smet Logistics</a>, Domenico De Rosa: «Sustainable transport is imperative for all operators in the sector &#8211; said De Rosa &#8211; We started using biofuels in Belgium and Spain, the group&#8217;s goal is to be completely diesel-free by 2023&#8243;.»</p>

<p>The government representatives, once again, confirmed their commitment to alternative engines: «We must focus on eco-incentives while giving priority to existing technologies and more widespread &#8211; said the Deputy Minister for the Environment, Dario Galli &#8211; electric vehicles make a big impression in the media, and it is absolutely necessary to invest, but in the short term we must also focus on those that, more modern, have a functional impact on the environment». On the sidelines, however, was announced the imminent signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Government and ALIS: «To create a shared path that has the goal of raising awareness of different lifestyles, from schools to businesses, and to promote standard rules for technological innovation &#8211; said Undersecretary Vannia Gava &#8211; it is essential to focus on the deconstruction, considering that transparency must allow to simplify procedures, certainly not complicate them».</p>
