The doors of Smet’s new project are open, with the technical support of Iveco and the institutional support of Alis. This is the Professional School for Eco Drivers, in short S.P.E.D., the first training body that offers the opportunity to learn the principles of eco-sustainable driving of heavy vehicles, thus respecting the environment.
Professional School for Eco Drivers
The Professional School for Eco Drivers is active at Smet‘s head office in Salerno and at all the other Italian offices of the company. In particular, drivers will be able to refer to the offices in Bari, Brindisi, Cagliari, Castrocielo, Catania, Civitavecchia, Piacenza, Porto Marghera, Pisa, Rome, San Salvo, Savona, Udine and Verona. At each of the locations, drivers will be able to follow courses – lasting two days, which will be held at the weekend – led by professional instructors and technicians of the same Smet.
Recipients of the School for Eco Drivers
The training courses offered by the School for Eco Drivers are offered free of charge to all drivers under 35 years of age. This, under the auspices of the company that finances the initiative, will bring young drivers closer to sustainable transport. A fundamental objective for companies operating in the transport sector, given the obligations imposed by the European Union. By 2030, as we all know, CO2 emissions will have to be reduced by 30%. This requires greater attention to the entire supply chain of any company, with particular attention to the development of intermodal transport and the use of alternative traction road vehicles. Last but not least, there is also a need for the main players in road transport, the drivers themselves, to learn the principles of sustainable transport. Only in this way will it be possible to achieve the objectives set by the EU.
To take part in one of the courses of the School for Eco Drivers simply fill in the form available on the official website of the school. A person in charge will provide all the necessary information.
