Mtd Award 2019: Smet’s commitment to sustainability awarded

It is a particularly prolific year, this 2019, for our company. At the presentation of the 11th Truck & Vans Yearbook, published by the Vega Editrice publishing house, our company was awarded once again. Thanks to its commitment to sustainable transport, Smet has been awarded the “MdT Award 2019”.

MdT Awards 2019: sustainability award

Following the award of the “Stella del Trasporto” at the last edition of Logitec Transpotec 2019, Smet has received another important award for its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its transport operations. In the setting of Saint Georges Premier, where the 2019 update of the Truck & Vans Yearbook was presented, Smet’s Managing Director, Domenico De Rosa, received the “MdT Awards 2019”.

This is an acknowledgement of the enormous investments that our company has been making with great commitment over the years. Not only through the renewal of its fleet, with the aim of using only liquid natural gas vehicles by 2022, but also with many other measures that allow, little by little, to reduce its environmental footprint. This is the case, for example, with the recent order of one thousand Kögel semi-trailers, which reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 10%. Or, again, the use of OptiFlow Tail aerodynamic appendages, which, thanks to improved efficiency, can reduce fuel consumption by 1.1 litres per 100 kilometres. Thanks to these and many other solutions, Smet has become the preferred partner for all companies that want to carry on their business in an environmentally friendly way.

Vega Editrice’s Truck & Vans Yearbook

Smet’s award ceremony was held on the occasion of the presentation of the 11th Truck & Vans Yearbook of the Vega Editrice publishing house. A consultation tool, which aims to collect all the latest technical data sheets of industrial and commercial vehicles, as well as vans derived from vehicles currently on the market. In the 2019 edition, in particular, the publishing house, which among other things also publishes the magazine Il Mondo dei Trasporti, has given even more space to technical and historical news.
